North West Adventure Tour
During this cultural expedition, you will enjoy the best of North West Vietnam in the areas of Mai Chau, Son La, Dien Bien Phu, Lai Chau and Sapa. The mountainous North West provides the perfect terrain for trekking routes. The Thai minority, a warm and friendly ethnic group, welcomes you into their homes and share their ways of life. The roads wind precariously across the mountain ranges, capturing the intensely varied lifestyles of the Vietnamese people. The final two days of your journey may be spent trekking the Sapa Valley to stay in minority villages, or just relax and enjoy strolling around the town and surrounding area.
Day 1: HaNoi – MaiChau
In the morning, leave HaNoi for MaiChau, following Highway 6 through small villages, limestone cliffs, and mountain forests. At MaiChau, visit a Thai hill tribal village, with 2 hours walking.
OVERNIGHT AT LOCAL HOUSE
Day 2: MaiChau – SonLa
Drive from MaiChau to SonLa along Highway 6, passing through ethnic minority villages. Stop at XaLinh village to meet H’MONG ethnic minorities. Upon arrival at SonLa, see the cave, and hot spring.
OVERNIGHT AT SONLA CONGDOAN HOTEL
Day 3: SonLa – DienBienPhu
In the morning, leave SonLa to DienBienPhu, following Highway 6 through small villages of ethnic minority, limestone cliffs, and mountain forests. At DienBienPhu, Tour the historical sites at DienBienPhu, including the DienBienPhu Exhibition Center and the Revolutionary Heroes’ Cemetery. Visit the most notorious battle sites of the military siege, such as Hill A1 (known as Elaine Two by the French), de Castries’ Bunker, and the airport. The afternoon is free for rest and leisure.
OVERNIGHT AT MUONGTHANH HOTEL IN DIENBIENPHU
Day 4: DienBienPhu – LaiChau
Drive from DienBienPhu to LaiChau over 100 km, passing through ethnic minority villages. Check in Hotel. Visit Thai ethnic minority village (DeoVanLong village, ThaiLand Lord)
OVERNIGHT AT LANANH HOTEL IN LAICHAU.
Day 5: LaiChau – Sapa
Leave LaiChau for Sapa, through many small villages of ethnic minority as, Thai, Mang, Lao, Lu, HaNhi… Check in Hotel ChauLong. OVERNIGHT AT CHAULONG HOTEL IN SAPA
Day 6: Sapa – HaNoi
After breakfast, return to HaNoi.
